Maryline’s Story

Co-Founder

Maryline is an artist, author, athlete, and yoga teacher. She was born in West Africa on the Ivory Coast to an African mother and French father. She left her birth country when she was one year old and spent the first 25 years of her life near Paris with her adoptive family. Maryline moved to the U.S. in 1993 after meeting and marrying her American husband.

Maryline has been a yoga student for two decades. She became a yoga teacher in 2005 and taught Hatha yoga for 15 years. In 2018, she discovered the Kaiut yoga practice. She connected right away with Francisco Kaiut’s method and embarked on his teacher trainings, first in Telluride, Colorado, and soon after in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In 2019, she began to teach Kaiut yoga in Colorado. Since COVID-19, she opened her own virtual yoga studio — La Vie Yoga — where she teaches group and private classes. Maryline accumulated 600 hours (KYM) and continues her never-ending yogi education taking various virtual teacher courses with Francisco Kaiut.

Jen’s Story

Co-Founder

Jen Is a Southern California native freelance writer and travel blogger who recently moved halfway across the country in search of new adventures and experiences. She loves getting out in nature, unplugging from the world, exploring unique destinations and meeting new people.

Her entire life, she’s been surrounded by photographers, artists and writers starting with her maternal grandfather who was an adventurer in every sense of the word, a painter, photographer, writer and storyteller extraordinaire. Creativity flows from there to her mother and her generation, her siblings, cousins, and son.

What’s unique about Jen is her ability to tell a story coupled with photography of the places she visits.

Jen and Maryline first met while editing Maryline’s memoir and the two became fast friends. Following two neck surgeries, Maryline introduced Jen to Kaiut yoga as a way to help her with chronic pain and so, their partnership began.

La Vie Yoga

What Type of Yoga Will Be Taught at La Vie Yoga’s 2025 Sedona Retreat?

La Vie Yoga’s 2025 Summer Retreat will be held in Sedona, Arizona at which Maryline will conduct classes using the Kaiut method of yoga. This method is simple and can be practiced by anyone regardless of fitness level. Students will embark on a journey of personal discovery where they can realign themselves with the ways of Nature. This type of yoga is practiced on the floor and uses gravity as its main tool.

This practice is non-aggressive and focuses on body awareness and the ability to be present, favoring the state of feeling instead of thinking.

The ultimate goal is to combine a new biomechanical approach within the human body and create a new stimulus within the mind with optimum potency.
